Shanghai High Definition Digital Technology Develops CDMB-T/H Chip

Following the September release of CDMB-T/H (China Digital Multimedia Broadcast — Terrestrial/Handheld), China's homegrown terrestrial digital television standard, Shanghai High Definition Digital Technology recently announced to have developed a CDMB-T/H video processing chip. The company expects to manufacture a sample in January 2007 and start volume production based on 0.13-micron process technology later in the year. Production volume for the first year is estimated to approximate one million units, targeting mainly the Chinese domestic set-top box makers.
